Thinking about taking SAT Subject tests (Math 1 and 2, Biology, Spanish)______

Good class rigor, but ACT should be higher. I don’t see any ECs that indicate an interest in Engineering like Robotics or Science Club. Your profile is a closer fit for a liberal arts major.

ACT should be closer to 32+. OSU is a match, BU high match, Georgia Tech/UIUC low reach, and UCLA is a high reach. If OOS, then UCLA is going to be expensive. What is your UC GPA?

If you are planning on taking SAT subject tests, Math 1 is absolutely useless for an Engineering major. Substitute Chemistry or Physics instead.

@Hamurtle

I’m planning on attending a summer engineering program at Georgia Tech this summer. And currently doing research for a college professor at OSU for engineering? Would that be okay? Sadly, there aren’t many clubs at my school :frowning:

And any suggestions for me to have a “closer reach” or “better reach” for Georgia Tech/UIUC and UCLA

You might want to form a club if you like Engineering or Technology as that shows leadership. And get the ACT score higher. 32 might work for some of the schools but for competitive Engineering schools 34+ would be better.

It appears that you are OOS for UCLA and that would be prohibitively expensive. And UCLA Engineering is a reach for in-state and OOS. If you are really interested in UCLA I would suggest Arts and Sciences as less of a reach based on your information.

@Hamurtle

Would it be better if I applied for an Arts and Science Major then?

Probably would have better chances for Arts and Sciences at your schools. OSU is obviously your safety but do better on the ACT and you will have decent chances at your other schools. And remember, don’t take the Math 1 SAT Subject test as most schools don’t consider that rigorous enough.
