Hi guys,
That time of year again when we all start to fret about college decisions. I’m no exception lol. So I was wondering if you guys could help me.
First off, I am a rising senior in highschool and I’m from NorCal. I am an Asian male (indian) and I plan to go Pre-med. My stats are: 3.63 uw gpa, 3.96 UC gpa (can I round that to 4.0?), and a 35 on the ACT. I have a 800 on Math 2 and plan to take the Sat Chem soon.
For my ECs: I have played national level tennis for 8 years, I have been captain of the varsity team for (2 out of my 4 years in high school), I have won multiple prizes at the regional science fair (every year I have done it so 3 first places) and have one once at the CAL state science fair. I have 2 publications under my name and I am going to a prestigious paid internship over the summer. As for clubs, I have been an officer for the Science National Honors Society and the president of the tennis club. That’s about all.
I know my gpa is low, but the reason being is that I had to take care of my grandmother diagnosed with cancer (my parents are almost never home), thus my grades tanked junior year. I understand that UCLA and Berkley are out of my reach, but I was wondering if you guys could help me with my chances at UCSD (one of my dream schools, but I’m skeptical of my chances), UCI, and UCD. Also do you guys think I have a chance at USC or UIUC?
Thanks!
