What are my chances for admission to these SUNY schools?

I am looking at Binghamton, Buffalo, Albany, Stony Brook, and Potsdam as my safety school.

I haven't gotten my SAT results back because I just took them, considering I waited three months for the College Board to approve me for extra time.

Anyway, my GPA is probably in the 89 range this year (junior year) so my overall average might be around an 88? And I took AP English (got high 90s,) Honors English (89 average) and AP Psych (high 80s) I've also taken a lot of electives that show my interest in writing.

I do a lot of ECs. I organized fundraisers for Type 1 Diabetes and the National Center for Learning Disabilities. I am the President of the Poetry club, and also the Chief Editor/President of the school's Literary Magazine. I'm also in the National Art Honors Society and I've won a few academic awards.

Problem is... I have a learning disability, dyscalculia, which has set me back in my math courses. I couldn't take advanced courses because of it, but I did well in the classes that I've taken. I plan to explain this to schools and hopefully I'll have somewhat of an edge by taking advanced classes in my strong suits (English and History). Also my math SAT scores probably won't be stellar but my English ones will. I hate this stupid disability :( I really do try hard.

I'm just worried because my average in Spanish freshman/sophomore year was in the high 70s, along with Chem this year which will be the high 70s or low 80s.

So what do you guys think? Sorry for the ramble.

I’ve also done volunteer work in tutoring and at the senior center.

Out of curiosity, are you t1 diabetic? Just asking because my brother is, and he applied to a lot of SUNYs so I’m familiar with what services/accommodations each one offers.

It’s really hard to say without an SAT score. Do you have any idea what range you’re in, from practice tests or something? If it was 1500, I’d say they’re all reaches; 2200, all safeties, y’know? Without knowing, maybe a good chance at Albany, but Bing and Buff are more competitive.

Yes I am a Type 1 Diabetic.

Potsdam will be a sure thing regardless of your test scores. Be sure to do the scholarship application. They like decent grades and good ECs plus they are test score optional. Your grades are okay for Albany it will just depend on how bad or good your test scores will be. Binghamton, Stony Brook and Buffalo will all hinge on your test scores. Your grades are low relative to their admission pools. If you get good test scores, then Buffalo and Stonybrook would be a better fit.
