APPLICATION
I decided to apply early decision to Amherst.
I know Amherst is a reach for me, especially with my ACT score, but I wanted to post this anyways. I think I’m trying to soften the blow of being rejected by posting this and hearing I’m going to be rejected by a bunch of other people. Anyways, I’d like to thank anyone who responds to this for taking the time to do so, and please, be honest with me.

Your ACT score will hurt you - that’s no question.
However, you have a large amount of ties to the school and neat extra curriculars with hockey and Chinese.
I don’t think you have great chances, but you definitely have an okay chance (15-20%)
Best of luck! Do you mind chancing me back?

It will be a reach–are you being recruited or planning to play a sport?

The first thing I think of when I see the length/time of your ECs is that you did all of them solely for colleges. How will you convey this differently to admissions?
