What are my chances for Case Western?

What are my chances for getting into Case Western? I have a 3.3 cumulative GPA (unweighted), scored a 30 on my ACT (this was my 1st try but i plan on improving to at least 31), my school doesnt do ranks but its a private school (Bishop Fenwick H.S.), and my extracurriculars and classes are as follows:

Freshman: All Honors possible + band; Football, intramural basketball, and volunteering at an animal rescue.

Sophomore: All Honors excluding english, and I doubled up on math taking Honors Alg. II and Geometry at the same time; I didnt play Football but I continued to do intramurals and volunteering at the shelter

Junior (Current Year): All honors excluding English but now with Honors Latin III; played football again this year and continued intramurals, I now volunteer in the pre/post deparment of Atrium Medical Center in Middletown,Ohio, and what I do does involved patient transport and contact. also taking AP World History

Senior (future): I am going to continue in all honors except english, the classes I will be taking will be: honors physiology, honors Bio II, english IV, Calculus(or precalc), World geography or AP Government, possibly Chem II (I like science), plus and elective and a religous class that is required by the school.

ACT Scores (specified): English 31, Reading 35, Science 27, Math 27

I will have reccomendations from the hospital I volunteer plus others if required
Also I forgot to mention I am doing a study on disinfectants for the Intel ISEF science fair
I will definitely be doing a visit to Case Western if possible

Thanks in advance for your feedback and if theres anything you think I left out I'd be thankful if you told me. ( please excuse any mispellings, I was typing this in a hurry)

My planned major is Pre-med, and if you think my chances are low, where would you suggest for Pre-Med?

Bump …

Bump bump bump

bump 10char

I’d say match for pre-med.

Are you a junior, since you refer to taking senior year classes in the future?

Parent of humanities kid here, so no direct experience, but my general understanding is that for pre-med students, look hard at your financial safety since you want to be able to get through undergrad with as little debt as possible to allow space for med school debt. So, what is your state flagship?

Second, my college freshman son knows kids who came in pre-med and now, 3 months into the first semester, are fleeing (after they have fallen at the bottom of the curve in their freshman year classes. So you want a school that will have sufficient offerings for you if you change course during college.

Case Western is known for being a science/engineering geeky kind of place, and they offer merit aid to their high stat kids to bring them in. So, overall, a good place for students who are looking to med school if you can get merit money. Just guessing, but right now, wouldn’t think that a 3.3 UW and a 30 are going to qualify you for merit money. If you are in fact a junior, keep working on that upward trend in grades, and do lots of practice ACTs to see if you can get into 32-33 range.

Good luck.

Yes, I’m a junior

You are on target but might be deferred/denied since you had weak showings on your math and science portions of your ACT.

Chance me! http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1417488-chance-cmu-jhu-nyu-umich-cwru.html

What does anyone think about my chances for UK, University of Cincinnati, or Xavier ? And if you think I could get into XU what would you think of my ability to get a scholarship?

U Kentucky: Safety
U Cincinnati: Safety
Xavier: Safety

UKY is a safety for kids with a 3.1/24 file… let alone a 3.3/30.

Oh, well what colleges would be a good fit for me considering I want to go for Pre-Med , most likely going to UC’s medical schoool afterward

I’m in southwest Ohio btw

Bump bump bump

Are Ohio U, Miami U (the one in Ohio; the one in Florida is too expensive for you) or OSU out of your reach?

Uh, well I was planing on applying to OSU, not Miami or Ohio though, why is maimi Florida to expensive for me though?
