I've gotten straight A's throughout all my classes, but sophomore year I kind of messed up. That was the year that my aunt had died, and it was extremely tough for my family. I tried my hardest to achieve good grades, but one of my classes suffered the most. For the first semester, I got a 4.3 weighted, but I received a D+ grade in my Honors Algebra 2 class. Second semester of sophomore year, I got straight A's and a B+ in my AP European History class. Also, I have retaken first semester of Algebra 2 online and received an A grade and a transcript.

Junior year I got straight A's, and received a 4.86 (my school weighs honors classes on their transcripts) and two fives and a four on AP exams.

if there is any information left out please tell me! I really want to attend Chapman, since I know I have lost my chances for UC Berkeley and USC

Don’t give up on USC and Berekeley with your stats you never know even if you have a D+ on there. Chapman is a safety for you and you probably will get some sort of merit scholarship. For other safety private colleges in California for you I would also look at loyola marymount university and Santa Clara university. Just in case you don’t get into berekely or USC.

Safety means you are very likely to get in, but at Chapman, I’d say that might only apply if you are not applying for film / television. But I have no direct knowledge.

Your chances are excellent, academically. You can make up the D, and they will not hold it against you, just explain it on the app. Chapman wants more for film, you need great essays and application videos. For theater or dance, you need an audition.
Just so you know, you can make up the D for a UCs, no problem.

Chapman is an excellent school. They are big on attention. They will call you if they have a question regarding your application. The bigger schools won’t do that. This is why Chapman is my child’s first choice school. Besides their excellent film program, Chapman also offers fine programs in the arts, science, law, business and economics, humanities and social sciences, just to name a few. They have world-class professors, including National Medal of Science award winner. We are very pleased with Chapman. We’ve made the right choice.
