What are my chances for Cornell (or another Ivy)?

Grades: 99% grade average (my high school doesn't have it on a four point scale on my report card..), I'm eighth in my class, and I've taken all honors and AP courses available. I'm an upcoming Junior and I'm taking out my language (German) to take two sciences next year (AP Bio and Pre-AP Chem). I haven't taken the SATs or anything yet, but I'll take them next year.

EC: I play the clarinet and am in Concert Band, Wind Ensemble, Marching Band, Clarinet Choir, Senior County Band, and District Band. I'm also section leader for the clarinets.
I'm in Paranormal Club, German Club, Outdoor Club, FBLA, will (most likely) be in NHS next year, and am starting a global cultures club next year and will be in a global culture quiz bowl. I've also had a job since I was fourteen and will be volunteering at a local hospital this summer.
If this matters, I want to be a biochem major and have a minor in english (or maybe music or language..I'm not really too sure).

Cornell has really been my dream school since my freshman year, and I really want to know if you think I could get in. I know that my class rank isn't really that high (I'm 8th out of 219), so if I'm not really good enough for Cornell (or any other ivy/top 20), what university do you think I should go into?

Thanks!!

I think you have a reasonable chance of getting into one of those schools. It is all unpredictable though so you never know for sure. A lot of the outcome resides on how well you do on your SAT and your corresponding subject tests.
