Continually improve your GPA(what is your unweighted and class rank?) and get an SAT score of at least a 2000. Your EC’s are good but aren’t very distinguishing. Try to do something different over the summer such as starting your own fundraiser for a charitable cause. The fact that you’re in orchestra helps, especially for NYU as they are more of an artsy school.
Do this and you’ll have good chances for both colleges.
Currently your chances for BU are okay and NYU is a reach.

An SAT of at least 2000 would pretty much ensure you get into BU. 2100 would be more fit for NYU. What’s your unweighted GPA? Are you a URM (black or latino)? If you are a URM, I would say with a 2000, BU - low match, NYU - Match / High match.
