What are my chances for getting accepted to Johns Hopkins University?

<p>Hello, thank you for reading my thread! I would like to start off by saying (well 1. Hello, how are you?) that John Hopkins is my DREAM school! I would do ANYTHING to get into that school and since Junior year is approaching, I figure this would be the best time to try to fix anything. I know my list isn't that impressive, but that's where (hopefully) your critiques come in. <strong>If this does anything, I would like to become a Neurosurgeon or a Plastic Surgeon</strong>
ANYWAYS <em>Deep breath</em> HERE I GO:</p>

<p>Gender: Female.
Ethnicity: Hispanic/Latino </p>

<p>SAT:
Since i'm only a Sophomore I have only taken the practice but I'be gotten a 1600..it's not very good but I'm studying a lot more now!</p>

<p>FRESHMAN YEAR:</p>

<p>Math/Physics - A+/A+
Advanced Spanish- A/A
Humanities- A+/A+
Art- Pass
Exploratory- A+</p>

<p>SOPHOMORE YEAR:</p>

<p>Math/Chemistry - A+/A+ ; I've finished all High School math
Spanish- A+/A
Humanities- A++/A++ ; I've gotten above 120%
Art- Pass
Exploratory- A+
<strong>My second semester scores up until this point...they're probably going to go up</strong></p>

<p>GPA: (Needless to say) 4.0 - My school does not offer APs (in any grade) and Honors are not available until Junior year
-Rank: 1/250 </p>

<p>EXTRACURRICULARS:
- Cross Connections (I go over to the K-8 next to my high school and help with the 2nd graders. I teach classes there too)
- Student Ambassador (I give tours and take part in student panels with people from around the world/nation/state)
- Summer Bridge Leader (During the Summer I help incoming students familiarize themselves with the school, make friends, etc.)
- Lead America Medical Program (This coming Summer)
- Competitive horse-back racing</p>

<p>LEADERSHIP:
- President of Student Ambassador program
- Co-Founder & Manager of swim team </p>

<p>AWARDS:
-Community Service award - 500 hrs
-Swim champion</p>

<p>LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION:
Very good! I make sure to establish a good relationship with my teachers and peers, and my teachers take note of that. They always write letters of recommendation for me for Student Ambassador & Summer Bridge (you have to be specially selected for those btw)</p>

<p>Even with the race card down, the SAT needs to be brought up a LOT for you to be a competitive applicant.</p>

<p>I know, since then I’ve gone up to 2000 in my practice book…i’m shooting for a 2300 but i’ll settle for a 2200</p>

<p>You still need more awards and leadership to make jhu a high match. If you get into research with a mentor, try entering it into the intel competition. If you’re really good at science or math, think about doing the Olympiad.</p>

<p>You can always attend JHU for med school, in which case get a stellar GPA in college, a 33+ on the MCAT, research experience, while not majoring in a field related to biology or biomedical sciences.</p>

<p>But, if you want to attend it as an undergrad… aim for either 2150+ on the SAT or 32+ on the ACT.</p>
