Hi, I’m a junior right now and starting to think about college. Here are some schools I’m thinking about applying to:
Northwestern University
University of Michigan (first choice)
University of Wisconsin-Madison
Indiana University
Case Western Reserve University
University of Illinois at Chicago
New York University
Can you chance me for any of those? University of Michigan and Northwestern would be preferred Here are my stats:
Ethnicity: Asian
Gender: Female
Major: Biology or Neuroscience. Pre-med
ACT: 33
UW GPA: 3.5
Weighted GPA: 4.6 (highest possible is about a 5.02)
SAT II: planning on taking math 2 and chemistry
Rigor: So far I’ve taken 7 AP classes (including this year). Almost all my classes are AP or honors when offered – the only ones that isn’t is physics. I’m planning on taking 2 AP classes next year and multivariable calculus, which is the highest math class offered.
AP classes taken and will take:
AP World, APUSH, AP comp sci, AP Calc BC, AP Lang, AP stats, AP psych, AP chem, AP Lit
Leadership:
I’m also doing a teaching internship in AP psych next year
Gym leader
Freshman advisor
Volunteer: I have 50+ volunteer hours from volunteering at a hospice and around school.
Awards: won a writing contest freshman year(don’t know if this still means anything bc it was freshman year), featured writer at an event at school, some minor speech and math team awards.
Essays: I’m a strong writer and I plan on getting my essays edited by several people.
Recommendations: I’m not super close with my teachers but I’m a hardworking student. I think i’ll have pretty good recs.
Extracurriculars:
Math team (freshman and sophomore year)
Speech team (junior year-JV and senior year-Varsity)
Founder and secretary of LYFE club - it’s like Best Buddies (junior and senior year)
JV colorguard (sophomore year)
Varsity colorguard (junior and senior year)
NHS member
Freshman advisor (sophomore and junior year)
Dance (have been doing outside of school since I was 6)
Super worried because of my unweighted GPA and teacher recs bc I don’t have a super personal relationship with any of them.
