I really want to get into Michigan because of the opportunities it could give me, but I feel like i have a lower chance of getting in because a lot of my friends are taking 4+ AP classes a year and I’m only taking 2 this year. A partial reason for this is because i did my first two years of HS at a different school that didn’t offer many hard classes, so when I moved to my current HS, I was told to not take many AP/Honors classes because it would be harder to get adjusted to the new school. I now regret this obviously, so now i’m trying really hard to make up for it.
I got a 1070/1520 on my PSAT (a really low math score), but I’m going to work hard on the SAT and ACT because I know i need at least a 28 or a 2000 (I’m not sure what this equates to regarding the new SAT) to even be noticed. I took the ACT about 2 weeks ago but I havent gotten my results back yet.
I feel like the only advantages I have are that I’m a Michigan resident and that I’m a girl who wants to go into a STEM field, but my parents are positive I’ll get in. Do you think I could get in? What else should I do to strengthen my chances? Thanks in advance, any tips or general advice would be great!
