What Are My Chances for MIT or Caltech?

I am currently a sophomore in high school, but have begun to plan my the rest of my high school career as to make myself a better candidate for colleges.

Here are my 9th and 10th grade courses and my likely classes for the rest of high school:

9th Grade - AP Environmental Science, AP Statistics, Principals of Engineering, Honors Biology, Forensics (Speech and Debate), Introduction to Art, Orchestra, Honors Composition/Literacy 9
10th Grade - AP Physics 1, AP Computer Science, AP Calculus, AP Human Geography, Spanish 1, Honors Comp/Lit 10
11th Grade - AP Chemistry, AP Lang, AP American History, AP Psychology, Spanish 2, Calculus 3 (At a Local University)
12th Grade - AP Lit, AP American Gov., Economics, Physical Education, Spanish 3, Some College Math Class, A College Physics Class, and a College Chemistry Class

With these schedules, I will have taken all available AP classes other than AP Bio and AP Spanish. I chose not to take AP Biology so I can take college physics and chemistry my senior year. I did however, take the AP Bio exam without the class and got a 4, same with AP Stats, and I got a 5 on APES. I have only taken those three exams so far.

I am currently teaching myself the curriculum of Physics 2 and Physics C because my school does not offer them, and I will take the exam. In the past, I did skip 7th grade. I play violin, and this year will be playing with the local university orchestra. I am an active member of speech and debate, captaining exempt speaking and going to state as a freshman. I began the local Mu Alpha Theta chapter and am helping begin a science club that provides opportunities such as science bowl and other competitions. I am also an officer of Future Business Leaders of America, another event through which I went to state. I am also one of the students in my high school’s STEM program that provides a graduation pathway with a STEM orientation. My current GPA is a 4.375, which should go up this year after taking more AP classes, and I am ranked first in my class, but my school hasn’t sent many to high ranking schools, the highest probably being the University of Denver.

I am planning on doing some summer internships or research opportunities in the future, and help volunteer with the National Park Service.

I don’t have any recent test scores to provide at the time. The only time I have taken the ACT was when I was 12, and I got a 25, but there were some health issues that may have interfered with my performance at the time, and It’s not a quality measure even then.

I plan on majoring in physics or mathematics, and Caltech and MIT are certainly on the top of my list. Is there anything I can do to become a better candidate for such schools and am I very likely to be admitted with y current merit? Thanks for your time.

My advice would be to stop trying to mold yourself and do what you like to do. The extra time spent studying for those self-studied APs would be better spent put into your favorite EC to get more recognition in it. One majorly impressive accomplishment is better than many middling ones. If you aim to major in a STEM field, why are you devoting time to Speech and Debate? If it’s because you genuinely enjoy it, good, and try to win some competitions in it. If it’s for your resume, drop it, and pursue more STEM oriented ECs that you like.
