I'm only a rising junior but I'm considering my options to make the most out of this year now.
My weighted GPA is 3.98, UW 3.48
I did much poorer than usual my sophomore year for reasons I won't get into (no excuses here), and I plan to step it up junior year (aiming to have a 4.1 weighted, 3.6ish UW)
I'm in Leader's Club at the YMCA, a very active participant in the Green Team (hopfully gaining a position this year), and a fairly active member of Class Council. I'm also going to volunteer in a third world country with Habitat for Humanity next summer, if this helps anything. My PSAT was not good, except for the math portion, (nobody had informed me I didn't have to answer every question so I bubbled in a lot of random ones), but I've been studying and taking courses, and I plan on retaking the SAT until I get around a 1900-2100.

BASICALLY: I have a pretty bad GPA, I'm going to work as hard as I can to bring it up this year. If hypothetically I had a 3.6 UW GPA, 4.1 Weighted, kick ass Essay, good recommendations, and fairly good ECs, what are my chances of getting into these schools.

My top 10 (I know a lot of these are a reach but I'm determined!) are:
UT Austin
UGA
UNC CH
Ohio State
UC Santa Barbara
Penn State
NYU
University of Wisconsin
UNCW
College of Charleston
