High School Junior
-Freshman GPA-3.2 UW (Not so hot, I know.)
-Sophomore GPA-3.55 UW
-Junior GPA-3.8 UW
-6 APs: U.S. History, Lit, French, European History, AB Calc, AP Stats (Sorry, no scores yet, but expecting at least a 4 on U.S.)
-Quite a few honors classes, At least four years of all core subjects.
-Also taking SUPA Economics and Leadership (rigorous government class)
-PSAT scores: CR-70 Math 63 (I think I can raise my Math score to at least 660 on the SAT)
-I think one of my biggest strengths is that I'm a good writer, so I'm hoping to do well on both the SAT essay and the application essays.
-Knowledge of French (from school) and Russian (from self-teaching)
-Hoping to do a summer language program. Suggestions?

Extra-Curriculars
-Not a big sports guy, but I play Ultimate Frisbee on the school's team and am a member of the club.
-Member of the local Rotary Interact Club. Ideally going for a leadership position next year.
-Plenty of volunteer work, including raising awareness and funds for the DEAAF cause (probably the thing I'm most proud of)
-Also play classical guitar, golf, and ski.
-Co-founded a debate club

Here's what I'm thinking:

American University (Match?)
Boston College (High Match/Low reach?)
College of William and Mary (High reach?)
SUNY Geneseo (High match?)
Case Western Reserve University

Also, which of these is the best for a double major in Economics and Political Science? I'll comment on your threads. Thanks in advance.

There will be more to say once you have some official SATs, but assuming your PSAT of 133, (what was the writing component?), then your profile looks like:

GPA UW ~3.6 with a pronounced rising trend
SAT 1330 +/- 5%
Some ECs with some leadership (co-founder) but nothing that jumps out as a “passion”
Some community service

American - Match
BC - Reach, more because your average statistically but I’m not sure how your ECs stack up at a school with a <30% admit rate
W&M - Reach because of OOS
SUNY - Geneseo - No idea
Case-Western - Probably a match, but that math SAT is a little low.

Get the Math SAT up and make sure and highlight your other EC accomplishments. I’d also add a true safety just to cover your bases.

Highly doubt you’ll be accepted to William and Mary. It is VERY competitive, especially for OOS. Both of my best friends were rejected last year with 4.0’s and 2000+ SAT scores, and they were IS.

I had a 1370/ 2140 and got merit aid so if your SAT’s go over 2000 you’ll probably get aid at American. I’ve noticed merit aid is largely based on SAT scores even though most people think it’s GPA based.

I think you can count on getting into American and the SUNY one. Case western is doable, especially if you get your scores up, BC and W&M are going to be a little tougher. I think you have a shot at pulling at least one of them off though.
