Standard Unweighted GPA = 3.6

Class Types: rigorous (APs and Honors courses)

SAT/ACT score with I had taken early: 2300/35

Home State: NY
Race: white
Sex: Male

ECs:
Varsity Tennis team starter and since 9th grade. (Captain this year).
Debate team participant since 11th grade
Newspaper staff writer since 10th grade
Science Olympiad participant since 11th grade
120 volunteer hours.

My Low-ish GPA is due to a bad freshmen year in which I got all B’s and B+. However, Sophomore year saw considerable improvement with mostly As and Junior was all A+s.

What are my chances of getting into Cornell CAS or NYU CAS?

I would say that your grades seem adequate even with the bad freshmen year. You showed improvement which is really what they’re looking for. Your SAT scores and class schedule look acceptable for both schools. My only recommendation would be to have more leadership positions, show that you’re multi dimensional. Also be sure you show interest in these schools early on ( visits, mailing lists, etc.) and good luck! :slight_smile:

NYU CAS you are definitely in, and Cornell you have a very good shot at with those SAT scores. I would say a match for both.

I do think you have a good chance. We are on the same boat in terms of GPA and extra curricular activities. Good luck man.
