What are my chances for Pepperdine?

<p>Before I give you my stats and whatnot, my other question is: Does it matter if you take the ACT or the SAT when applying to Pepperdine? Is one more favored?</p>

<p>Now, what do you think my chances are for getting into Pepperdine? (It's my first choice.)</p>

<p>HS Graduating year: 2011
Pubilic School in New Jersey, send many grads to top schools
Will NOT apply for financial aid</p>

<p>Academics:
GPA- Weighted- 3.63
GPA- Unweighted- 3.61
Class ranks aren't given, 400+ in my class.
So far 1 AP class, plan on taking one or two more
Will have taken: 4 years English, 4 years science, 4 years Latin, 4 years math, 4 years history.
*Only a few honors courses (Latin Honors one year, Chem Honors one year, two years in advanced math)</p>

<p>Scores:
PSAT: 1710 combined
Practice ACT: 25 overall</p>

<p>Extracurriculars:
4 years Latin Club
2 years TV-Film Club
2 years Young Republicans club
4 years Cross Country
4 years Winter Track
4 years Spring Track
Washington Workshops Model Congress (summer program)
Senior year: plan to write for the school newspaper (very prestigious program, nationally recognized, one of a handful of newpapers that aren't prior reviewed)</p>

<p>Volunteering/Service:
Not sure of how many hours, but probably around 50 hours total
(I plan on volunteering at the Children's Specialized Hospital starting next year)</p>

<p>Work Experience:
Summer CCD Aide- 2 summers (I was a classroom aide for the summer CCD program at my church)
Cooking School Party Assisstant (December 2009-present)</p>

<p>Other Details:
Probably applying Early Decision, if not, I still won't need financial aid.
Active member in my Roman Catholic Church parish.</p>

<p>I think your extracurriculars are great. I’m sure they will especially like that you are active in your religious community. As long as you do your very best in the honors courses you are taking, I think you have a decent shot! Make sure you have top notch essays too!</p>
