What are my chances for Phillips Andover, Exeter, Choate and Deerfield?

Hi

I’m going to 8th grade this fall and I want to go to either Andover, Exeter, Choate or Deerfield for high school, and I wanted to know what my chances were of getting in

I’ve taken practice SSAT tests and I’m expecting

Quantatative: 95%
Reading: 80%
Verbal: 90%

I’m working on my scores, but if you have any tips about doing well on the SSAT please comment!

My grades so far on Average have been

English: A-
Math: A
Science: A-
Social Studies: A
French: A+

In math and french I am in honors classes, which are the only two subjects that offer honors options.

I do volunteer work for Cradles to Crayons, and I may help out with my younger sister’s girl scouts troop.

In addition, I am planning on being on a rowing team, I am part of a swim team, and I may continue xc and track at school depending on my schedule, although I’m not exceptional at either.

Thanks for reading and please comment!!

In my opinion these school are looking for something that is your niche or something for which you particularly shine. Do any of your existing sports fit that category?

Actually, yes, I’m want to continue rowing through out high school, and I also score well in various math competitions as well.

I know zero about rowing but I think the ERG times will be an important part of the process if you hope that your rowing will help you gain admission. Swimming I know a fair amount and for coaches it would be important that you could score points for them as early as freshman year. You can look at the NEPSAC results at www.nepssa.org for last year’s times.

Wanting to row doesn’t get you on a preferred list. Are you tall? Have you been working on an erg? Are you a competitive swimmer?

@Center I have already taken rowing lessons, but I still have to try out for the team is what I was intending to get across.
