I am in the top 25% (between 10 and 15%) of my class with a 1830 on my sat, 640 math and 620 reading, so I know I don't have automatic but I am going to retake the sat and try to get the extra 40 points.
I am a member in the National Honor Society and Key Club
I have around 50 hours of community service
I was on the wrestling team for 2 years, varsity for part of the second
I have taken 2 ap classes and my senior year will take 4 or 5 more my senior year
I am getting a letter of recommendation from my uncle who is a professor at A&M and hopefully my teacher that went to A&M.
Right now I am finishing my essays and then I will turn in my application ASAP.
Hopefully I can get automatic admission, but if I don't what are my chances of being accepted?

TAMU: Match

Last year approx 83% of the admitted freshman qualified for auto admit status ( top 10% and academic) so the remaining 17% are review candidates making it very competitive. Your scores & rank will count 50% and everything else 50%. Submit great essays, recs, show interest, and keep taking the exams (hopefully you can make up the extra 40 points). As is, I’d give you a good chance given your rec source - your EC are not as good as some others ( no leadership or awards listed), rank & score are combined for a success number - you should do fairly well there ( top 15% + 1260) so don’t give up hope, you’re in the good category - but do try to increase that score & join the auto admits. You can update your application with increased scores up to the Dec 1 deadline. Any additional studying you can do will be well worth the effort! Good luck!

My friend got in with a similar sat score with yours. And she wasnt even in top 50 percent. I think you have a chance to get in. Good luck
