We are so far 9 weeks into the new school year where I live. I am a currently now a freshmen in high school and I will be the class of 2018. I have always been a straight A student, high school does not seem all that hard for me, just yet. I am very intellect in science areas, and I actually want to major In Veterinarian Medicine/Anatomy. Basically I have grown up in an animal hospital, and half my whole kin are Vet's and or Vet techs. I have also lived in Florida for basically my entire life. So yes, I am a pretty darn big Gator fan. I know that they have an extraordinary Vet Med program, and I would love to go there. But yes I know the admission game can be hectic and treacherous with 40% acceptance rate. I am so far involved in more then a few extracurricular activities. Some clubs I cannot join till I am a Sophomore or above( Such as Honors society for any subjects, or obtain any real leadership positions, other then student council officials) though. But I have a few up my sleeve, and a few sports so far. Last year in 8th grade, I was in all advanced classes including Algebra 1 Honors. I held an A in there for all 4 quarters( Low A's like 90's) but my EOC grade brought my EOY down to a B( I think it was like an 86). Which that Algebra class is on my High school GPA. I also took Spanish 1 in middle school and obtained 1 language credit( 105 for eyo) for HS, that grade is not on my GPA. Same with A PhotoShop class I took( 98 for eoy), I have a High school Credit for it, but it's not on my actual GPA. I have also taken a few classes on FLVS- Florida Virtual School- And I have high school credits for those( A's on all of the courses I have taken online, but none are on my GPA just yet, but they will be) . So far as a Freshmen, I already have 6 HS credits towards graduation, basically a whole grade year worth of credits, But my unweighted GPA is a 3.716( It's not updated, it will be after we get our semester grades, last update was before this school year started). I am just stressed about my grades right now. I know how extremely lucky and perfect you have to be to get into the University of Florida, let alone their high demanded Veterinary program. So this year I am in all Honors courses: Honors Biology, Honors Geometry, Spanish II and English 1 Honors. I have strong A's in My English and surly in my Bio class, that's not really what I am concerned about though. I honestly am not the best in math, so I am struggling to maintain an A in Geo, right now it's at an 87 B. Also I didn't do so good on my last Spanish exam, and that alone brought me down to an 85 B. I am going to try all I can to bring them up, I am pretty sure they will go to higher B's, or low A's. But if I get two B's for my first quarter report card, will that really effect my GPA, or is it just semester and EOY grades that count? But if I want to get into UF's Vet program, what is it going to take? What I mean by this is What courses am I looking at taking/ should take, such as Ap, Honors and the actual specific class( Like what sciences to get into their program). What do they like to see applicants take? Does UF want someone who took a rigorous AP class and got a B, or someone who took a normal class and got an A? Do they look at your courses you took, or just the actual GPA? What is the average GPA, SAT and ACT scores for accepted undergraduates into UF? How many varsity sports, extracurricular activities and volunteer hours are they looking for? Do they accepted Bright Future Scholarships? Is it easier to get in to the University as a Florida resident? How important is your essay you write for applying? Does it matter if you have a unique story about yourself/ unique stuff that you have done? Maybe I am just stressing out about nothing, but I see these two B's and just freak out, and I have a large quantum on questions just waiting to be asked and answered. My entire future is depending on these grades and my high school days.

My Biology teacher is also recommending me to take a Senior level course next year as a Sophomore, A+P Anatomy and Physiology, which I cannot wait to take. just prior to this, I was recommended to take the SAT this year, but I have not taken it yet, nor the ACT. It's also hard to find time to study when you have late practices, games and meetings. I am going for the long stretch though and I am going to stride for my UF goal, but if it's not possible with my grades and scores, I'll most likely look into LSU as an alternate.

I would really like appreciate any bit of advice, and if someone could please try to answer my questions. Advice from a student or Alumni of UF would be extremely spectacular and I would praise any response from them,. This is really my dream, and right now it's still pretty tangible, I just want to go in the right direction and reach it.

Once again I am only a Freshmen, and I plan on doing a lot more in my high school days, course and extracurricular wise.
