Wrote an Article in the local paper
Appeared in local paper section of 'Teen Life' for being an outstanding teen, wrote a whole article on me.

AP's: AP English 11 AP English 12 AP Studio Art Spanish 3 Honors

Ethnicity: African American
My English Teacher, who is one of the teachers I am closest with at my school says I have a good shot at really any of these schools because I am black, I have a good life story, grow up with my grandmother, never knew my father, met my mother once.

I took the SAT did bad, not saying my score im re-taking it.
Honestly, what are my chances, and does being black really play a big factor?

Not providing ANY standardized scores gives me a nearly impossible task of “chancing” you. If I had to ONLY use your GPA, URM status, and an assumption of an SAT score of 2000 it would look like:

University of Southern California-High match
New York University-High match
Villanova-Match
Emory-Low Reach
University of Miami-Low Match
University of Rochester-Safety

URM helps, but not as much as people on CC think it does.

ya without your scores it’s hard to say. My take assuming great SATs (2100+):

University of Southern California - High match
New York University - Match
Villanova - Match
Emory - High Match
University of Miami - Low Match
University of Rochester - Safety

Most of your app is at a strong level, so the SATs will matter a lot. (make or break it)

I agree with flyingllama—except for UMiami. That is a definite safety for you. Why not apply to Georgetown McDonough for business as well? It would probably be a low reach for you.

well, i really like Georgetown’s campus, its really nice, but it just didnt seem like the right school for me, and the school that im really focused on right now is USC. but thanks for the suggestion, ill think about it
