What are my chances for Vassar as an International Student

I am from England and want to apply ED for Vassar
I achieved the best results in my class (which has 400 people in)
Always achieved straight A’s and A*'s (We don’t have GPA’s)
Top 30 viola players in the whole of Great Britain and Ireland and first chair in 2 regional orchestras as well as having work experience at an international technology company and winning awards in the field of both maths and computer science

The only thing I’m worried that will let me down is my SAT score of 2040 which I was fairly happy with considering its very different from the English exams and I had to learn everything on my own at home.

Do you think I will have a chance?

Thank You

Well of course you have a chance.

I don’t usually push test scores, but there is time* for you to take another crack at the SAT (and/or try the ACT) before ED deadline, and it might be worth it. As an international applicant you are competing with students from all over the world- and since Vassar meets 100% of demonstrated need, there is a lot of competition. You are obviously a strong candidate, but your score puts you in the bottom 25% of admitted students. And although you are not used to the SAT format, you are a native English speaker. Consider doing some practice work (either with a study guide or with an online site) and re-sitting it.

*the deadline for registering for the October test is 1 September, and your scores will make the ED deadline at Vassar
