Unless your application sings. Dartmouth cornell and williams are probably lower than average unhooked applicant which is about 4-10% rd and somewhat higher ed.

You have a better shot at other schools
But i dont know #s well enough to make estimate. Wes is an easier admit than the dart william and cornell, but not all that much

Everything about your application seems good. However, I can see the SAT score turning some of the colleges off

Of course, it’s the weak point. Ivies and Williams are definite reaches. Hoping to get into at least two out of three of the slightly easier schools to get into (Boston College, Wesleyan, and Vassar). Thank you for your comment, I’m putting work into my essays.

Ivies are going to be difficult to get into, and it won’t be only because of your SAT scores. Of course, they are not going to help you, but another factor is your overly common essay topic. Try to find something unique!

Really excited about Vassar, Wesleyan, and BC in particular

Boston College middle 50 SAT: admitted 1420-1530, enrolled 1370-1490
Wesleyan middle 50 SAT admitted: 710-770 ERW, 740-790 M
Vassar middle 50 SAT: 690-750 ERW, 700-780 M

They’re still pretty reachy, Vassar a bit less so. Your non-SAT application looks great, so your essays could swing it. Have you applied to safeties and matches too?

Are you male or female? Many LAC’s have higher admit rates for guys, especially Vassar.

If you like Vassar, consider applying to Skidmore, which has a similar acceptance rate but slightly lower median stats, such that your SAT is above median as well as your GPA. Skidmore is particularly good if you’re interested in clinical psychology, as they have a field experience program that’s a relatively unusual opportunity for undergrads. They have a 1/15 RD deadline.

Clark, in Worcester MA, is particularly known for psych and could be a good safety. Also in Worcester, Holy Cross is like a less-reachy (but still excellent) BC. It’s an easy 45-minute commuter-rail ride to Boston from Worcester. Both have a 1/15 deadline too.

Your stats won’t keep you out of any of your schools, but they won’t stand out in the pool of unhooked applicants either, so the question is whether your other qualities will stand out and overcome the odds. I would want a few more matches and safeties (perhaps you have them and are only asking for opinions about the reaches) but they’re appropriate reaches so long as you understand odds and the unpredictability of the process.

Also assuming you’ve verified that all these schools would be affordable.

Best of luck; sounds like you’re preparing a strong application!

I think you are in at Vassar. BC and Wes look a little less certain for they are decent possibilities. The others are crap shoots and you should consider them unlikely.

Of course. I have applied to a variety of schools. Thanks for the feedback.

I am a guy, so I know that gives a slight advantage at Vassar at least. And yes, I have applied to more schools, was just wondering about some of these top choices. Thank you for the feedback though, it is encouraging!
