What are your test scores? Also, it seems like you’re lacking a bit on the ECs. I know you can exemplify your love for reading in your essay, but seeing that you did sports only your freshman year and how you’re only in like three other clubs will look bad to them. Wellesley is all about ECs and stuff like that. Your courseload looks fine. The CP classes will also look fine, considering the fact that no honors track is available (they have that at my school- its either AP or CP and it really ■■■■■ us all over). Get working on your essays NOW. In your Wellesley specific essay, talk about SPECIFICS. That time you visited campus and a girl you didnt even know came up to you, or that time you sat in on a class. Make them feel like you’re in love with the school, and get good recommendations.

I wish you luck! We need it!

@doctordebbi Thanks! I do have more EC’s planned for junior year and this summer. Here’s the final list:

Over the summer:
Meeting on a weekly basis with the rest of the school newspaper staff to construct a website for our school newspaper and write some articles. I will also be taking online classes via coursera in Astronomy (Duke), Chemistry (Duke), and Pre-Calculus (UCIvrine) (I want to get ahead with Pre-Calculus) and I have a goal of reading 24 books over the summer.

Junior Year:
Newspaper
Peer Outreach
Inkwell (Our school’s literary magazine)
Debate
Link Crew
Student Senate

I also have the GPA to get into National Honor Society and Social Studies Honor Society.

@sciencenerd4 good, I think you should be fine. Try to gain leadership positions, and study for your ACTs and SATs… a lot. Also, take both and see which exam you perform better on before studying. I wish someone had told that to me. I perform much better on the ACT, and if I would’ve known that, I wouldn’t have spent countless hours studying for the SAT. (Nonetheless, study for both. But you can manage your time better and really study on the test you like more for a really AMAZING score).
