What are my chances for William & Mary?

Female, currently a senior at a private college prep school in Tennessee (Tennessee Resident).

Cumulative GPA: 3.77 (my school does GPA weirdly, so this is my unweighted GPA. I had a 4.1 at my previous high school-I switched mid-year sophomore year). I'll have a 3.9 if I continue to do well this year.

SAT: (2012) Reading: 730, Math: 570, Writing: 690 (1990)
(2013) Reading: 720, Math: 630, Writing: 650 (2000)
Taking again in November

ACT: 32 (35 English, 26 Math, 36 Reading, 30 Science)
Taking again in a week or two

All of the classes at my high school are honors/AP level, but they don't have AP classes. Senior Year schedule is Religion (required), Shakespeare's Comedies, Advanced Chem (the equiv of AP Chem), Statistics (AP equiv), 17th-21st Century Brit Lit, and Latin 4. I took a university class (World Politics) my second semester of my junior year.

ECs: A number of clubs, including Write Club (creative writing), Gay-Straight Alliance, Co-founder and president of Book Club, and Debate Club. Worked as a radio show host for two years, Writer and Editor in school newspaper for three years. Over 500 hours of community service logged, very active in my church ministry (including staffing multiple youth events, etc). Ambassador this year (touring prospective students, staffing weekend events, etc). I am currently participating in the theatre production at school.

Have been horseback riding since I was nine, currently solidly in intermediate rider with loads of ribbons from shows.

low-match prob waitlist – show interest + raise your test scores just a nudge + write well crafted essays

Don’t listen to that earlier comment. You will be fine. I know a girl that got into William and Mary with a 1500 SAt score. I think your application is very strong. Just stay focused would be my best advice.

W&M: Match

W&M: match

I agree with above two posters you are a match. But don’t pay attention to that comment of a girl getting into W&M with 1500 SAT score. I am a virginia resident for 30 years, following the college scene last 7 years, You cannot get into any of the major colleges in Virginia with 1500 SAT unless you have a HOOK. And it better be a good one.

I think you’re a definite match for W&M. Just make sure you don’t slack on your essays and get some great recommendations.

Match school

With the 32 ACT I wouldn’t even retake the test unless you think you can bring up your math score. Don’t retake the SAT. Your ACT scores are good for W&M.

W&M doesn’t care about interest.
