What are my chances now? :(

Hi everyone!

I feel as my college chances are slowly dwindling...

Accepted: George Mason (full scholarship), Tulane (full scholarship), and Boston University
Rejected: UVA, UNC-Chapel Hill, Duke, and Vanderbilt
Waitlisted: Georgetown, Wellesley, WashU, Emory

I'm really scared for Tufts! I really want to go but now I don't think I have a chance.

Your chances at Tufts are the same now as they were before you heard from any of your other schools. Just take a deep breath; it’ll all be over soon.
Good luck.

Haha thanks! I guess the “now” opened new ways to interpret my question :). Thanks for just telling me to take a breather…I haven’t even been told to do that in a while! Your comment made my day:)

sissykitty - Good luck, you just don’t know until you know. I didn’t think Tulane did full scholarships except for athletes.

I’m with you sissykitty - got rejected by Georgetown yesterday but Tufts has been my first choice from the beginning and I really think it’s a good fit for me… hopefully they think so too. I’ll cross my fingers with you. 24 hours!!

^^Tufts and Georgetown are such completely different schools. I’m always surprised to find so many people who favor both.

Relax, if you got wait-listed at Georgetown, you might be able to keep your fingers safely crossed for Tufts. Good Luck.

i’m still getting over my Duke wait list! It sucks so much! Tufts is a close second so I hope I got in!

Aww good luck everyone!!! No matter what, I’m sure we’ll end up somewhere we’ll be happy:) hehe!

fallenchemist - I don’t remember the exact scholarship name but it covers everything…it’s just so far :(

sissykitty - If you are talking about the Deans’ Honor Scholarship, which is the only one you could be talking about I think, it does not cover everything, “just” tuition. Fees, room/board, and books are not covered. Just thought you should know in case that makes the decision easier.

With regard to being far away, 99% of students don’t go home except at breaks and holidays after their freshman year, even when they go to school close to home. OK, I am exaggerating the 99%, but it is extremely common to see students be homesick their first semester and even go home often if they can, and by sometime in the second semester they can are calling home far less frequently and staying on campus almost every weekend. Obviously you know yourself, but I bet you would also adjust quickly. Especially at Tulane, because 75% of the students are from more than 500 miles away, so the campus doesn’t empty out on the weekends like some do.

@WCASParent - Maybe cuz they’re both good international relations schools? I applied to the School of Foreign Service. However I kinda made the decision to apply on a whim, because I was scared I wasn’t applying to enough schools, so I practically went eenie-meenie-miney-moe through a list and got Georgetown…lol… Tufts was always #1. ;)
