I'm currently at a state University in GA, which doesn't have many out-of-state students, it pretty much accepts any and everyone, overall GPA is 2.5 to get in.

I currently have a 2.87GPA accumulated from my AS degree @ my local CC, I don't like my current school and want to attend University of South Florida in Tampa, FL.

I have already applied this week, for summer semester of 2011. Like I said my GPA is currently 2.87, when I called up USF undergrad admissions, I asked what the GPA requirements are for acceptance and they then asked what major I was applying for? I told them computer information systems, they then told me the GPA requirement was only 2.5 just like my current school which I've got accepted to. This school has 22,000 students, which is close to USF along with their GPA requirements...but like I've heard it will be much harder to get into USF if I even stand a chance?

Since I'm out of state/transfer student I've been hearing really really mixed opinions of me getting in. Some say it will be much harder out-of-state, due to so many out of state students wanting to attend colleges in FL with the nice weather, etc. I do know USF is a large commuter school so idk how many out-of-state students they have, if applying early helps me to get ahead? I do know a lot of HS students have much higher GPA's then me in the range of at least 3.0GPA overall to 3.8GPA range lol. I'm not sure if keeping a 2.87 GPA is as easy as keeping a 3.8GPA in HS....if I actually tried and knew I was going to attend college yes I could have maintained a 4.0GPA. Others tell me I will get in no problem, and that they accept any and everyone, not difficult to get in at all....but most hs kids in FL have at least 3.0GPA's

I have heard the acceptance rate @ USF is somewhere between 43% to 63% and 30% who do get accepted do not actually attend....I do know they also have a waiting list which I hate the idea of.

DO YOU THINK I HAVE A CHANCE @ ALL ?
