Hey. I’m a junior who is about to enter senior year and was wondering if anyone could let me know my chances of getting into macaulay honors, preferably at Brooklyn, City College, or Baruch. Here’s my stats:
GPA (unweighted) : 97
SAT: 1350
ACT: 31
SAT Subject Test–Bio M: 700
AP Bio:5
Will be taking AP English, US, and Calc AB next year
Will be taking 2-3 courses at a nearby college next year
100 hours at an internship (unpaid) for a real estate office
210 hours (each year) as a counselor (paid) in a kid’s day camp for 2 summers.
ECs:
-Arista national honors society
-President of Student Council for upcoming senior year
-Honors College
-Ran a Cotton Swab drive to collect donations of bone marrow
Regents:
- Algebra 1: 90
- Bio: 97
- Geometry: 93
- Chem: 98
- Global: 96
- Hebrew Language: 98
- English: 98
I’m a first generation American (both parents are immigrants, and I can speak 2 languages other than English, but mom went to college here)
Rank: 2/83 in class
I do plan on joining some more clubs senior year (am already part of school newspaper as layout editor).
I also may do some more volunteer work or shadow a doctor, but I’m not so sure about that.
I’m really nervous because of lack of ECs, APs, and low SAT/ACT test scores.
I do plan on writing solid essays and will hopefully get good recs.
What are my chances of getting in to macaulay and if there’s something that could really help my case, please share.
Thanks so much.
