I'm a sophomore in high school and Penn strongly interests me. I'm considering applying to the university through early decision, but I'm not entirely sure at this point in time. I'd like to know, generally, what my chances are of getting accepted. I strongly feel that Pennsylvania University will provide an environment in which I can thrive and achieve an education that will fully prepare me for the future.

I’m sure you already know the answer to your own question and are just looking for approval, but if you don’t know the answer, go to Penn’s website and look at their admissions stats.

lol dude you’re fine. why are you so concerned if your rank 1? even if you didn’t get into penn, ud still get into many other prestigious colleges. chillax

I got into Penn regular decision. Honestly, your stats are just right. Make sure you write really good, meaningful essays. Take the interview if you are offered, as it will make you seem more interested and like you are willing to give up your time for Penn. I was class rank #3. I think class rank plays a huge role. Try to keep it #1. If it becomes #2 or #3, don’t cry a river. It’s not a big deal.

And if you have an interview, try to have a flowing conversation rather than just “I should get into Penn because I did this, and that, and [list of accomplishments]”. It makes you seem like a robot and boring. Be like, I joined music because it’s a hobby, where my friends and I can just have fun and yet still exercise our brains. Instead of mental workouts, I also joined Track and Field to workout physically…yada yada. And make it personally and explain why you do what you do and give good reasons.
