What are my chances of getting in?

I have a 3.7 weighted GPA, a 3.5 unweighted, I know they calculate a new GPA with my grades, I believe my California GPA is about a 3.8.
I am out of state from Northern Jersey, originally from NYC.
I have 30+ hours of community service, job experience, lots of extracurriculars, multi-varsity athlete.
Very good essays (according to an admissions rep)
28 ACT
Shown lots of interest in the school (came across the country to visit)
Multi cultural / Biracial / Dual Citizen from the Bahamas
Thoughts?

What major are you applying for, and in what college? UCSB has three colleges: Letters and Science, Engineering and Creative Studies.

Also, I might be wrong but doesn’t UCSB require the SAT, not the ACT? I just know I took the SAT and not the ACT. I dunno though.

@CSmeow I applied for a Sociology major in the Letters and Sciences, and UCSB takes both!

Assuming you met the a-g requirements, I’d say you are on the bubble. Neither your grades nor test scores will set you apart in their applicant pool. You personal statement could make all the difference.

Good luck!

Also forgot to mention that I took 1 AP in junior year and 3 this year!

I agree with NCalRent 50/50 chance. Good Luck

I’d say the same as the others, except ‘dual citizenship with the Bahamas’ isn’t the typical international we get in California, unless I’ve gotten out of touch, and I think it makes the applicant more interesting.

You have some pretty good stats; however, your schedule doesn’t sound rigorous enough. You never know though!! Good luck!
