I am currently at a D in my Calculus AB AP class and I just finished applying to different UCs and CSUs and one private. If I don’t pass Calc this semester will I not get into any colleges??? I have one more test and our final but I don’t know if I can pass both tests to bring up my grade. ANY TIPS??? -A VERY VERY struggling student
If you do not pass Calculus AB with a C or better, you could be rescinded but most colleges that have accepted you would be willing to work with you. Some may require you take summer school to make up the class etc…
Right now you need to work with teacher or look for a tutor or form a study group with students doing well in the class and get that grade up to at least a C. My niece was in the same situation and hired the top student in her Calc class to tutor her. In the end, she passed the class with a C.
Good Luck.
If I were you I would just spend all of my time on just Calc AB. Don’t worry about your other classes. Work for the next month or so on getting A’s on the last test and on the final. IF you have a high D, then getting that score up to a c or even a c+ with A’s on the last two exams should be doable. Being completely honest, I could see colleges rejecting you with a D, so getting it up to a C should be your only priority. Good luck.
Agree with above in regard to do your utmost for the one in danger, but at the same time don’t let any other get screwed up!
Ap calc is tough. Try a lot of online resources such as khan academy. You will most likely pour more effort into that single class than all others combined, that is just how it is.
