I am currently attending a community college and it is my 3rd year. My current GPA is 2.88 and after my fall quarter i will have a 3.02 GPA. I applied to CSU Long Beach, North ridge, Los Angeles, San Diego State, and San Francisco State. I was wondering what are my chances of getting into these schools as a communications major? I finished all of my GE requirements/lower division courses and the only class i need to finish is a transferable math course. I just wanted to get some fed back if I would be able to get into any of these schools and any information would be helpful.

Thank you

Hey man, I would suggest you to work your ass off and get that GPA up to at least 3.5.
If you can’t try to include an essay or explanation as to why it’s not as high.
CSU is relatively easy to get into if you’re a freshman, I’m not too sure about transfer but I would suggest you check out this site [Test Requirements & Scores for California State University, Los Angeles](http://www.collegeview.com/schools/california_state_university_los_angeles/testscores)

Try to also check out the CSU site and see the requirements for transfer students.
Good luck and change me back!!!

You should be able to get into at least one, especially if you can get it up to over a 3.0. Cal State program for transfers is pretty forgiving.

For some reason Communications is a very popular major and CSULB and SDSU are pretty competitive so it is unlikely you would be accepted at either of those schools with your current GPA. As for CSULA, after looking at the SAT statistics Jimbo posted it looks like they will accept just about anybody who applies as a freshman. Since an awful lot of these students with average SAT scores of 430 in math and 420 in critical reading are probably going to flunk out in their first two years, there might well be spaces for a substantial number of junior transfers.
