What are my chances of getting into aerospace engineering at Texas A&M?

GPA:3.5
Rank:440/720
Sat score:1870
Sat math:670
Sat reading:590
Volunteer hours:40
Extracurricular activities: basketball, CARE organization, Interfaith organization, religious classes, high school tennis, Latin club
Extracurricular hours: 150 hours

I plan to visit Texas A&M on freshmen information day and any advice would be much appreciated. (Texas A&M at college station)

Being in the bottom third of your class makes admission to A&M for any major at all, much less engineering, a very long shot. Have you considered other more realistic options? What about Missouri S&T or Embry-Riddle (Prescott)?

(Or was that class rank a typo, did you mean to say 44/720? If so, A&M engineering would be a more appropriate goal.)

Yes those are secondary options

But I don’t have enough money for out of state

I’ve also got 2 letters of rec going to A&M. Would that help?
