What are my chances of getting into an Ivy league school?

So do I have a good chance of getting into an Ivy League?

I am 10th in my class of 576 students.
I have a GPA of 4.64.
My unweighted GPA is a 4.0.
My SAT score is a 2220.
I ranked #1 in the nation for men's gymnastics on the Pommel Horse.

If you want me to list my ECs I can do that too.
Thanks for any help.

I think you have a great chance, assuming your ECs show leadership and passion

Yes I’ve worked for two in the summmer helping special needs children in a camp.
I am the vice president of science club.
I participated in:
Peer Ambassadors
Key Club
French Club
Best Robotics (My team placed 8th in the nation)
National Honors Society
Math National Honors Society
Science National Honors Society

In addition, I won the UPenn Book award (I’m not sure how prestigious this is)
Thanks again!

two weeks*

Your ECs are small-time and meager, but I think your athletic involvement more than makes up for it! You seem to be stellar student, embodying the essence of what colleges look for in a student-athlete. You are a very deserving winner of the Penn Book Award (which as a matter of fact is indeed a big deal and will help you immensely in getting into Penn if you so desire). I would be interested in knowing if you have any SAT Subject Tests and what sort of advanced curriculum you’ve pursued. If you have rigorous coursework I don’t see anything standing between you and the best of the Ivy Leagues (save for Harvard and Princeton which receives its share of magnificent student-athletes).

Generally I have pursued math and science. I love physics, so next year I’m taking AP Physics C, and AP Calculus BC. I am also considering doing AP Chemistry or an Advanced Research mentorship (if you have any input on whether I should take one or the other I’d be glad to hear it). I have not taken any SAT2s, but I am planning on taking the Physics SAT, and the Math II SAT. Both of witch I’ve scored an 800 on during my practice tests. In the past I have taken advanced courses in all subjects. I have taken AP Physics and AP U.S. History though.

You mentioned that my ECs are weak. I have a great opportunity this summer to further strengthen my application, but I am not sure what colleges are looking for and what I should do with my free time. If you have any suggestions I’m all ears.

Your stats are good and if you are recruited for gymnastics you have a good chance for the Ivies since most of them have Div I gymnastics.

What do you mean you are #1 in the nation for pommel horse. At what level did you compete?
Do you participate at club level as well as on a high school team? Even if you don’t want to be recruited for gymnastics, it does show considerate time commitment and if you have received any national recognition it is a plus.

In your junior year, I would focus on a few ECs to obtain some leadership roles. Pick one or two of your existing ECs that you are truly interested in to take it a step further.

Hard to give advice for future classes without looking to see if you have taken adequate number of courses in core requirements since you said …“Generally I have pursued math and science.”……Make sure you have fulfilled the core req’mts as selective schools like to see a well-rounded high school education as well – English, Soc. Sciences, Foreign Language, etc.

I’m sorry I didn’t clarify further. By the end of my senior year I will have completed
4 years of English
up to French 5
3 years of history
5 years of math (If you take into account that I did freshman one year math in 8th grade)
5 years of science
In addition, I have taken several electives along the way.

All of these courses were either AP or level 1. In all, I should graduate with more than enough credits in all areas of study.

What I meant when I said “Generally I have pursued math and science”, I meant that I am interested in those areas of study, and I enjoy them the most.

I train at a club for gymnastics because my school has no men’s gymnastics available. Furthermore, at the National Men’s Gymnastics Competition I came first place in my age group on the Pommel Horse. There were gymnasts from around the country, and I have been in the sport for almost 10 years.

Why didn’t you qualify for the Olympics??

I’m still in highschool, lol. Usually men in college qualify for the Olympics while women qualify in highschool. The reason being that women develop… physically and if affects their gymnsastics greatly. This is not a problem for guys.

When I said “I ranked #1 in the nation for men’s gymnastics on the Pommel Horse.” I meant in my age group.
