Common App Essay:
I wrote about how being good requires heart and being great requires drive (Hitler was great, not good). I wrote that I am good (talked about teaching thing) but need to learn how to be great, which is what I want to do in college.

I know my chances of getting in probably suck, especially because of my standardized testing and GPA but I just wanted some outside opinions.

I think your GPA is very good, your rank would help determine chances better but GPA shouldn’t be detriment. A 720 on SAT 1 math is low for engineering, and a 730 Math 2 is also low. I would retake both of these for RD, theres not much you can do for ED. Your volunteer work is very strong, if you can make this the highlight of your app.

I would say a slight reach just because of how difficult it is to get in, but best of luck! Chance me back please!

I would say that Columbia ED is a reach for you. Your scores are not the best especially for engineering. Im actually wondering why did you choose engineering like you dont have any stem spikes, but are more suited for economics in that it prob would have been more beneficial if you applied to the College. Anyways, you volunteering is somewhat strong but I think it will depend on yous essays. Im also ED Columbia and saw in the thread you wanted people to read essays so just hmu
