<p>So here's my deal: I graduated from Penn State with an IT degree and with a 3.3 GPA in 2004. I've been steadily working at a well known investment company for the past five and a half years and now I want to start teaching English (ESL to be exact). What are my chances of getting into Columbia Teachers College and NYU Steinhardt? I got two recommendation letters from co-workers senior to me (one a tech lead and one a project manager). I'm just scared that my crap GPA in school will come back to bite me.</p>
<p>I don’t think so.You’ve also got the work experience that works for you.TC is said take into consideration the whole ‘holistic’ aspect of any applicant.If we take that into account then despite your GPA you may stand a good chance.Not too sure about NYU,however.</p>
