I applied to CSU Long Beach as a freshman the other day without realizing that the nursing program was terribly difficult to get into. After doing some research, I learned that, with this as my major, I may not have such a great chance at being accepted. I also applied with my alternate major as Biology--will I possibly be accepted with this major if I am denied in the other program? I have a GPA of 3.67 and an SAT of 1820

CSULB has a special STEM eiligibility index that more heavily weights the math section of the SAT.

If your SAT is balanced or your did well in math, I think you’ll get in for Bio.

The nursing programs at many CSUs are super competitive. Honestly, I don’t think you’ll make the cut.
