So I'm a junior in high school, and I just received my first sat score. Here's a little bit about me
-97.32 gpa
-two AP classes
-Have a 94 regents exam average ( my lowest score is on 89 an the english regents)
- SAT Score 430 reading, 510 math, 580 writing
-Arista honor roll + many other achevements
-one or two extracurricular activities.
So yeah, do I have a chance of getting into hunter? I heard that a good gpa can make up for a low sat score...is that true?
I have only heard about a test called the sat's two years ago coz I came to the US 3 years ago, so that's why I did so poorly... but anyways, what are my chances? My plans are to get in to their clinical laboratory science program as a premed...

I will take the sat's again in may then in october.

Please go to the PreMed Topics forum her on CC and read about what is needed for med school. As long as you complete the required coursework for medical school, you can major in any academic subject, science related or not. The only types of majors NOT recommended for applying to med school are vocational ones, including something like clinical laboratory science.

Aw, man…that’s like the only thing I had in mind…But on the hunter college website, they say that they have a Medical Laboratory Sciences: Biomedical Science BS, for people who want to go to med school or dental school. They even have high acceptance rate.

When CUNY is concerned, a higher gpa actually does make up for a low SAT score. However, I’m not so sure because Hunter is still pretty competitive.
