What are my chances of getting into Emory University?

I am a sophomore in high school and I’ve skipped a grade making me a year and a half younger than my classmates. I haven’t taken my SATs yet, but I will at the end of this year and then I’ll begin taking dual enrollment classes after.

As for my classes, I took two AP classes freshman year, AP Biology (3 on AP exam) and AP Human Geography (4 on AP exam) and then I took Honors Geometry, Honors 9th Literature, Spanish, PE, and Healthcare I. This year I’m taking Honors Algebra II, Honors World Literature, AP Psychology, AP World History, Latin, and Chemistry. My GPA is a 4.0, unweighted.

My extracurriculars include gymnastics, which I’ve done for 12 years so far and I’ve competed for 6 years. I’ve competed at the state level 5 times, the regional level 3 times, and nationally at the USA National Team Training Center and was recognized. I’ve attended the Lindenwood University college camp and was awarded the work ethic award and I also attended the Texas Women’s University college camp. I am a part of the Science National Honors Society, the Red Cross Club, and HOSA. I completed the Saturday School for Scholars program at Georgia State University in middle school. I was awarded the Honors award last year at my school after being recommended by my literature teacher. This upcoming summer I will be a part of a study abroad program in East Europe that I was selected for in my AP Human Geography class. I haven’t been able to volunteer yet because of my age. My family is middle class and both of my parents have master’s degrees.

Thanks!

You’re pretty young to be thinking about it (you’re a sophomore so you won’t be applying for 2 years, right?). It’s hard to say since things can change in 2 years on your end and Emory’s end, and you don’t have your test scores yet, but it looks good so far. All I can recommend is lots of APs and maybe taking on an interest club this year and sticking with it for the full 3 years.

Skipping a grade could help you if you mention it in an essay somewhere. It’s unique.

Without ACT/SAT scores and more than one year’s worth of high school grades, it’s hard to predict your chances.

Your athletic accomplishments are probably the most impressive thing of your ECs. Are you planning to compete in Division I athletics as a gymnast? Emory’s athletic teams compete in Division III and Emory appears to have a club gymnastics team that does appear to compete at nationals and get school funding.

In past years, Emory hasn’t required the submission of AP test scores but they will look at them if you submit them. Here, you want to shoot for 5’s on your AP exams, though colleges in general, are accepting fewer and fewer AP credits.
