hey guys , so , I’m in the 2nd/3rd year in highschool , i have an ok curriculum , i fight karate since I was like , 8 years old , i’m black belt in it and give community lessons every saturday for three years , i still havent done an official sat , but on the tests prepare I do pretty well , i belive i can easily take 1500/1600 , i direct a play in highschool and have done 3 short films , I cant say if they are any good but they do pass strong social messages , but… my GPA is horrible , about 2.6 right now , i just cant deal with the educational system , I think it’s too ridiculos , but the bad thing is that i need it to go foward … and thats pretty frustanting , i wish i could not go to college and go straigh be on set , serving coffes or whatever , but the problem is that brazilian film market is still to small , i came to theconclusion that college is really the best choice , and i want to have an international experience , so … do I have any chance of getting into nyu film school ?
Do you have the money? Both of these schools cost around $70,000 per year. Neither is known to be very generous with financial aid for international students. Check out their websites for information about scholarships, although most schools require higher GPA than yours to qualify.

Hi, I am applying NYU film too.
If you get 1500/1600 It would be great to show that your academic is actually great enouch foro NYU, USC but as NYU say that its 50% Academic and 50% Art. and NYU doesnt not require any film experiences.
I dont know about USC, cuz Ive heard that they highly consider your GPA.
So I think, you would get into NYU film unless your portfolio isnt good or great.
My art pieces are good (I chose to submit paintings, sculpture, and pictures etc.) But my grades are below average so i am really worried about my decision too.

No money? Bad sign
Bad grammar with no punctuation or correct capitalization of “I”? Really bad sign again. I hope you don’t write like this in important compositions like college essays or writing assignments.
Lastly, NYU? Bad choice, it has very stingy aid/scholarship for international students. You would have to be very very exceptional, which your stats do not prove.
