What are my chances of getting into honors?

I’m a rising senior (Female, 17, Filipino, Florida Resident) and will be applying in August.
GPA: 4.3 W, 3.6 UW
SAT: 1980 (superscore) Math 640 Reading 640 Writing 700 essay 10
ACT: 30 Essay 10
Rank: 36/438
AP: 8 by senior year
Every other class is IB
Senior schedule: AP Calc BC, Physics 3 IB, IB History of the Americas, IB theory of knowledge, IB Film HL, IB English 4 and IB Spanish 4
300+ community service hours
Intended major: English- editing, writing, media
ECs: NHS, national Hispanic honor society, national English honor society- president, Rho Kappa (history honor society) - secretary, Link Crew, Junior Ladies, Senior Women, Quill and Scroll Journalism Honor society, School news anchor- national finalist (the show was ranked number one in the east coast, number two in the U.S.), Powderpuff, IB and Communications Academy Ambassador, AP scholar with honors, YMCA Marketing and Communications Summer Internship

I know some people with exceptional grades and ECs that didn’t get invited to honors… What are my chances?

Minimum test scores for the honors college are a 1900 SAT and a 29 ACT, so you should get in.

Honors is seemingly a crapshoot sometimes, so it’s not always cut and dry as to who gets invited and who doesn’t. You should get into Honors though: FSU loves IB students, especially those that earn the Diploma. Even if you are borderline on stats, they’ll typically give you a bump if you were in IB.

You should be fine. Your stats are strong enough to get in, either by invite or by petition.
