What are my chances of getting into my dream school-- Georgetown

Hi, everyone! I'm currently a junior attending a small high school in Ohio. My high school is considered to be part of Appalachia; however, my family is not. My GPA by the end of my junior year will be 3.64 uw (3.84 w). I realize that my GPA is considered to be low for Georgetown, but I am involved in multiple school and community activities. My ACT is one of the highest in my high school, but I am working to raise it. I have yet to take the SAT or any SAT Subject Test. Here is a general list of what I have done. Please be honest about my chances, and if you have any advice to boost my application, it would be greatly appreciated.

ACT: Composite- 31, Reading- 34, Math- 27, Science- 30, English- 31
Practice SAT: Writing- 740, Math- 640, Reading- 680, Essay- 12
GPA uw: 3.64
GPA w: 3.84
AP Courses Taken: AP US History, AP Statistics, AP US Government and Politics, AP Language and Composition, AP Literature (next year)
Honors Courses: Honors Algebra 2, Chemistry, Pre-AP Language Arts, Physics, Pre-Calculus, Fundamentals of Calculus (next year), Advanced Biology (next year)
Extracurriculars: Marching Band, Symphonic Band, Concert Band, Pit Band, Jazz Band, Steel Band, Music Club, Club for International Awareness, Thespians
Other School Activities: Principal's Advisory Committee, Dover City Schools Grading Committee, School Magazine (Photography Editor and Senior Leader), Tutoring

My focus throughout high school has obviously been either English or Music. I am involved in many other school and non-school related activities, so this is merely just a sample. Thanks for the help!

Georgetown: Reach

^same

10char

Reach, but not impossible. Write some amazing essays, and take the ACT again and aim for the perfect score. Then it’s a maybe.

Would my living in Appalachia possibly boost my chances? I know that I am eligible for full ride at many colleges based solely on that and my course rigor.

I’d say that, because of your low GPA, moderate ACT, and low practice SAT of 1320, you have less than a 25% chance of getting in. In order to raise that, obviously put some effort into raising those which can have the most significant impact. By that, I mean focus on standardized testing and doing things to make yourself unique. If you can get your ACT to a 33+, SAT to a 1400+, and your GPA to a 3.7uw/3.9W, your chances can improve dramatically.

That’s just my .02$. Sorry if its not what you wanted to hear

Oh, no, every bit of advice helps! My English teacher and I have been working on my essays, and I truly do love them. My ACT can and will go up. But, no, I’m willing to hear every opinion and piece of advice! Thanks so much.

Do ACT practice tests at least 10 times in crowded areas like starbucks.

You’ve been working on your essays over seven months early?

…

I /literally/ wrote my SFS and activity essays the day before the deadline.

I’m a writer, so if I have time, I will write bits and pieces of the Common App essays and any other supplemental essay. That’s just how I am.

Yeah once I get the application prompts I’m gonna start right away- get 'em done early and tweak them over the Summer as I get a more objective point of view
