What are my chances of getting into Northwestern Medill?

GPA: 3.8
ACT: 33 (36 english, 29 math, 33 reading, 33 science)
SAT: 1450 (superscored - math 700, reading/writing 750)

AP US history - 5

I’m a junior currently taking AP U.S. Gov, AP English Language, AP Psychology and AP Human Geography. Next year I’m going be in AP World History, AP Physics 1, AP English Literature and AP French.

Extra curriculars:
School newspaper (Editor-in-Chief)
Debate club (3 time best speaker award)
Poetry recital competitor (school champion 3 years in a row)
Viola (youth symphony, school orchestra, solo recitals, solo competitions)
Member of the French Honors society
I am part of a community service group and have been traveling to different countries building schools/classrooms every winter break for three years.

Last year I was nationally recognized by the NSPA for an investigative news article - finalist for “news story of the year.”

I also got accepted into the Medill Cherubs program for high school journalists on a full ride and will be going there this summer.

I am Mexican-American.

for Medill cherubs helps a lot as does journalism experience. 1000% love your work, I think you’ve got a great shot as long as you demonstrate your (clearly awesome) writing skills in your app and talk about pubs you want to join on campus in your essays. lmk if you have any questions about Medill - happy to help
