and although my grades are not exceptional i try to make it up with my sports and extra curriculars as i had to take on many leadership positions. Can you guys also tell me where i need to specifically improve on. Appreciate any help

i also forgot to mention that i am applying as Early decision. im hoping that will give me a better chance because i really want to go to this school.

Hi,

I’m an international student and a rising sophomore at NYU Stern.

Are you looking at pre-med track at CAS? I think your extra-curriculars are great, but you’ll want a much higher SAT score (preferably 2050-2100+), I can’t really tell if your GPA is good or not as that depends on the system your school is currently using. If you are thinking pre-med, you probably want to re-take the SAT II Math Lvl 2 as well and try to get yourself at least a 750+.

Also, are you a rising senior this year? And which nationality and country are you currently studying in? More info on where you’re headed (what school/major/track) would also help evaluate your situation better. But as of now, if you’re looking at CAS pre-med, you have the ECs, but will really want to focus on getting your test scores up to improve your chances. If you can do that, you’ll be well within the selection game, and a good rec and/or essay should give you a great chance.
