I am senior right now and have already applied to Syracuse and it is the last school that I am waiting to hear back from and it is causing a lot of unneeded stress, so hopefully you guys, regardless if it is good or bad, can help me get over this.
I am looking at double/dual majoring in Philosophy and Mathematics with the intention of going onto graduate school after getting through my undergraduate work.
These are my High School Stats:
GPA: 3.7/4
ACT: 27 (Science 29, Reading 27, Math 28, English-Writing 26, English 25, Writing 10)
Class Rank: Top 20%, out of 440 (Could graduate somewhere in the top 16% or 17% if I keep up the same pace).
I had a rather significant drop in my grades during my freshman and sophomore years as a result of family issues and depression that had a very negative impact on both my academic and personal life. I have not had a grade of B+ or lower since my sophomore year. I was a dual enrolled student at my local community college, getting an A in my philosophy class.
AP Classes/Scores: All the N/A’s are the ones that I will be taking in May of 2015 and in each class I have had an A- or higher.
AP Psychology (5)
AP Macroeconomics (5)
AP US Government and Politics (4)
AP Language and Composition (4)
AP US History (3)
AP Statistics (N/A)
AP Calculus AB (N/A)
AP Physics M/E&M (N/A)
AP Literature and Composition (N/A)
EC’s: National Honor Society

Other info: I live in a household that has lived with a household income of under $20,000 for the last five years. I have not been able to go and have an interview with the university as a result of my lack of financial resources (and this is the part that has me the most worried.) I have accumulated over 350 community service hours over my high school career, plus another 20-30 that I have accumulated with the NHS.
Other Schools I have been accepted to:
University of Minnesota - Twin Cities
Marquette University
University of Kentucky
Michigan State University
If there is any other information that you feel that I could provide I will update. Also, if there are any other schools that you feel like would work by all means throw them out there. This is helping me out more than you could know.
