Hi,

I have been interested in UW since my sophomore year of high school, and I am currently in the process of applying. The fact that they have a 58% acceptance rate makes me feel a bit better.

I do have one enormous problem, though. My Standardized test scores. I've never been a good test taker, and even after I studied, my scores were still low. The first time I took the SAT I got a 450 in math (I'm simply horrible at the subject), a 550 in reading, and a 590 in writing. The reading and writing scores surprised me because these are my stronger subjects. The second time I took the SAT I got a 420 in math, a 590 in reading, and 630 in writing. It's so dissapointing, and these scores do not reflect my capabilities as a student in any way. I'm scared it'll really affect my chances.

But here are my credentials:
I have a 3.6 GPA (unweighted) and a 4.8 (weighted).
This year I am enrolled in 4 AP classes, and I will have taken six in total by the end of this year. I have no regular classes.
I am the Student Government vice president, the environmental club president (have been a member for four years), the national honor society vice president, and a member of the Interact service club.
I am a hospital volunteer and in total I have over a hundred hours of community service.
I am also a kenpo karate student, and an assistant karate instructor.
I was awarded the Smith college book award last year.
I don't know if this even matters, but I am a minority.

Writing is one of my strongest abilities, so I'm not worried about the essay. It's just my SAT scores. And I did worse on the ACT.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!
