Before I start, I don’t want anyone to get the wrong intention that I’m trying to boast about my accomplishments. It has always been my dream to go to UC Berkeley or any UC and I’ve been extremely worried lately about my chances. I go to a public school and unfortunately, only a few students have gotten accepted to highly-selective universities. Now with that being said, here are my achievements so far (I’ve already posted this in another thread but for Berkeley):
-4.9 weighted GPA, 3.7 unweighted
-4.08 UC GPA
-ACT score of 34
-I will have taken 12 AP classes by the end of senior year. (AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Physics B, AP Physics C, AP Calculus BC, AP Government and Politics, AP World History, AP United States History, AP Psychology, AP Language and Composition, AP Literature and Composition, and AP Computer Science)
-I intend to volunteer at the hospital this summer.
-I’ve participated in three extracurriculars - debate team, speech team, and robotics.
*I plan on studying biological and biomedical sciences.
*Out-of-state student
*Ethnicity: Asian
Your GPA is within range and ACT score is above the average so I think you have a good chance. Since you are OOS, it may be more difficult due to a cap on OOS admissions along with no FA offered to OOS students. Good luck
matches for both. yes, again, tuition is an issue. wait, i dont get how your W gpa differs so much from your UC. if you have high ap scores, good letters of rec, good essays, and maybe subject tests, id say you have a very good shot. although i and sd are harder to get into, you are competitive.
My school has an odd weight system. For every honors/AP course, .222225 is added to your overall GPA. So if you had 2 B’s and 4 A’s with 5 of those being honors/A, you would have approximately a 5.0 weighted and 3.6 unweighted.
