@ixivmm - is your GPA weighted or unweighted? Did you try to look at the UGA’s GPA calculation information? Are you in state? Others have way more experience than me, but my general sense is that your stats are lower than most and I’d think it is a reach for you.
@ixivmm when I look at the last published profile, the 50% GPA is 3.97 - 4.21, and for tests its 1400 - that is why I would put UGA as a reach if I were you. Also, their common data set says race is not considered. I’d make sure you have safe schools on your list.
@ixivmm I don’t do chances, but I can tell you what I have seen in previous classes due to knowing a large number of current African American UGA students and formerly accepted students who chose other schools. I have seen a SAT scores of 1300+ work in almost all cases in my area of Georgia for African American students and I have heard of students getting in with equivalent numbers to yours and rejected with similar numbers. I have seen a few African American men get in with numbers lower than yours (with portfolio/musical talents that probably made the difference). Your guidance counselor should have an idea of how students at your school have done previously. Good luck to you.
