What are my chances of getting into University of Michigan, Ann Arbor?
Hi,
I am senior, who is going to apply to universities this summer. But I am honestly only interested in University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. I moved here from India when I was in 9th grade.
My GPA is around 3.5.
SAT score is 1600.
ACT score is 24/ writing score is 8/12
I play guitar, exceptionally good at art, really good at badminton.
I live in texas and I know it's gonna be really expensive to live in Michigan and all. My mom is a teacher at a montessori school and my dad ditched my mom when I was in India like 3 years old. My mom has a really low wage to take care of herself and me. So, is there a possibility of me getting a grant or scholarship to pay all my tuitions?

Tough to say…your stats are not as high as the range…but your background diversity and hardship essay if extremely well written might give you a shot…Go for it and apply early!! Be sure to also highlight why Michigan is your #1 choice…you have nothing to lose.

just apply (: write a really strong essay, stress michigan as your first choice, get really strong recs and take the act again . good luck!

U-M is a reach with a 3.5

I have a 1760 on my sat and a 97.36 GPA. I am in the top 10% of my class and did research and won some awards for my project. I also have a 730 in the SAT II in US and 770 in BIO. so do i have a shot at UMICH

everybody has a shot, you don’t know until you try!
