Hi,
I am senior, who is going to apply to universities this summer. But I am honestly only interested in University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. I moved here from India when I was in 9th grade.
My GPA is around 3.5.
SAT score is 1600.
ACT score is 24/ writing score is 8/12
I play guitar, exceptionally good at art, really good at badminton.
I live in texas and I know it's gonna be really expensive to live in Michigan and all. My mom is a teacher at a montessori school and my dad ditched my mom when I was in India like 3 years old. My mom has a really low wage to take care of herself and me. So, is there a possibility of me getting a grant or scholarship to pay all my tuitions?

No.

If you were in-state, maybe, but since you live in Texas, I doubt you will be able to get into Michigan, on account of your lowish GPA and weak test scores. Trying to get in with a “scholarship to pay all my tuitions” is just impossible.

Look into some good UT schools; the quality of education there will be outstanding, and it will definitely be less of a financial burden on your mother.

Sorry buddy, but your ACT score is below par for out-of-state applicants to UMich, and as for great financial aid, I’m not sure that UMich is what you’re looking for, taking into account that you’re from Texas.

There are some great colleges in Texas that you could apply to: UT Austin and Texas A&M are possibilites.

I don’t normally tell people not to apply to a college, but not only is UMich unlikely to accept you, but it also doesn’t sound like a good choice for you. Stay near your mom: at least in-state or at a college where she will have a small financial burden. This might be a problem elsewhere, but you live in Texas, which has some great universities.

Best of luck in everything! :)
