What are my chances of getting into UT-Austin?

<p>UT-Austin is my dream school, but I messed around too much freshman year and am now not sure I will be able to get it. I want to attend McCombs School of Business, to be specific. I am in my Junior year right now at a high school in North Texas.</p>

<p>I have a 3.5 GPA, but am only in the top 15% of my graduating class (I go to a school of 2,500 students). I scored a 2000 on my SAT (1400 without Writing). I am the President of the Debate team and Debate club at my school.</p>

<p>I am involved in community service, and recently went on a mission trip to Ukraine for 2 weeks (I figure that will look good on applications).</p>

<p>What are my chances of getting into the McCombs School of Business at UT-Austin?</p>

<p>The Cap program maybe the best option, spend one year at a UT system school (excluding Dallas) and transfer in the following year. Otherwise its not likely, UT-A weighs in class rank very heavily. I have heard stories of a kids getting into great schools like John Hopkin’s but getting rejected from UT Austin because of their rank.</p>
